LEBANON PT’s Get Physical Run-Walk: GREAT SUCCESS!
Lebanon Physical Therapy once again was happy to host the Get Physical 5K and the fifth occasion of the event was a great success. The race/walk attracted a new record for participants and helped to raise $1700 for the American Cancer Society. The charity event was also a way for LPT to provide a community fitness event as they prepare to celebrate National Physical Therapy month in October.
The event did draw a record number of participants, almost doubling its number from a year ago. The increase is a result of many components; that more people in the area are interested in fitness and are getting out to exercise, that more and more people are aware and eager to support the American Cancer Society, and that LPT continues to try and improve on our success in putting on a quality event. All registrants received a t-shirt, food and drink, and a chance at great door prizes which included cash and electronics.
Race director Bob Weatherly once again had a great supporting crew, mostly employees at LPT and volunteers from the Lebanon community. “We couldn’t do such a great job of hosting this event if my fellow employees didn’t help me the way they do. We have it down to a science now, but without their time and effort, it wouldn’t get done.” He was also happy to make a record contribution to the ACS and expressed his gratitude toward the sponsors of the event.
This year’s sponsors were CGI, who was the primary sponsor for the fourth straight year, C-Health, who has helped with all five races, Starnes, Inc, and Alcoa Wheels. Food was provided by Kroger and water was supplied by Pepsi.
